Applauding the way BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has taken on the Akali Dal during the election campaign in Haryana, Aam Admi Party (AAP) state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur on Saturday said that after the outburst of Sidhu people of Punjab must take a lesson and reject the Akali Dal completely.
Addressing a press conference here, the AAP leader said, "Sidhu himself has shown the face of the Punjab government. The direct attack on the Akali Dal has shown the truth. Sidhu is absolutely right and now people of Punjab must take a lesson and reject the Akali Dal in future polls."
Chhotepur said that in the present scenario, everybody in Punjab was feeling insecure and had been reeling under continuous burden of unnecessary taxes, inflation and electricity cuts, whereas deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had been trying to portray Punjab as a prosperous state.
The ground reality of Punjab is that businessmen were burdened with taxes, farmers were under debt, youth were getting hooked on to drugs, crime rate was escalating and the politician-criminal-mafia nexus was flourishing, he alleged.
He said the Badals' claim of bringing in investment from NRIs was a far-fetched dream, and the NRIs felt insecure about their properties back home.
Earlier, the AAP leader convened a volunteers' meet of party's Amritsar unit, wherein he motivated them to work relentlessly to expose the "ill-designs" of the SAD-BJP government against the common man.
He said the organisation of the party structure in the state was underway and the hardworking, sincere and honest workers who had contributed in strengthening the party would be considered for sharing more responsibility in the party at every level.
