Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Punjab president and former Rajya Sabha MP Avtar Singh Karimpuri has extended an invitation to Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who was sacked by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from the post of state convener on Friday, to join the BSP. He also invited Jalandhar cantonment MLA Pargat Singh, who was suspended by the Shiromani Akali Dal, to join the fold.
On Friday, Chhotepur had alleged that AAP’s Delhi leadership was anti-Sikh. Karimpuri alleged that Congress, too, was anti-Sikh. He said chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has ruined the Sikh religion by politicising the religious bodies.
He said in the last nine years, the Badal-led government had done nothing for the welfare of the people. He said the Badal family has captured key businesses, including transport, cable and mining.
“Students are not able to get benefits of the post-matric scholarship scheme and the government schools are in a pathetic condition,” Karimpuri said.
