State government has decided to rope in a child prodigy Kautilya Pandit as brand ambassador for Bal Swachhta Mission.
A resident of Kohand in Karnal district, Kautilya is studying at a private school in Panchkula. The six-year-old has extraordinary powers of grasping and recalling various tutored facts.
Announcing this on Friday at a Children's Day function held here, state women and child development minister Kavita Jain laid stress on creating an educational environment where children could develop their natural skills. She called for community participation in the campaign for ensuring healthy children and hygiene for healthy society.
"Children can play a very important role in achieving Swachh Bharat. They can become ambassadors of cleanliness and motivate others to keep their homes, schools, and surroundings clean," said the minister.
The minister added that cleanliness habits should be imbibed in children using informal ways such as small games, poems, storytelling and conversation among others.
