Haryana's new chief secretary, SC Choudhary, who assumed office on Tuesday, said his priorities would be to ensure execution of the government's welfare schemes and keep the administration active.
Appointed new chief secretary on the retirement of his 1977-batch mate PK Chaudhery, Choudhary told the media that 2014 was an important year, since all announcements by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at the Gohana rally were to be implemented from January 1. "Effective steps have been taken for the execution of all important announcements such as interim relief to employees, risk allowance to police personnel, and old-age allowance," he said.
The Lok Sabha elections would also be held in 2014, and it would be his priority to maintain law and order to ensure that those were held in a peaceful manner, said Chaudhary. Asked about IAS officer Ashok Khemka, he said since he did not have full facts of his case, he would be able to take any decision only after getting this hands on complete information.
