Cinema has deep impact on society. This was stated by professors in a national seminar organised by the department of Hindi of Government College at Dev Sadan here on Thursday.
The college organised a two-day national-level seminar on "Cinema and its social concern" in which around 67 professors of different subjects across the nation took part event and delivered a lecture on the topic.
Professor of Banjar College of Kullu district Ramesh Thakur said, "Cinema played an important role in society, whether it is related to war, love or nationality."
He said cinema depict real picture of society that how villagers were migrating towards big cities in search of work.
Professor of Maniben Nanavati Women's College, Vile Parle west Mumbai, Ravinder Katyayn said, "Cinema has negative as well as positive impact on society, which depends on its viewers."
He said, "It is not fair to blame cinema for westernisation in the society as well as it increases crimes, because one part of its viewers trying to imitate the scenes like that way, as it has been shown in movies."
