City girls bag 7 of top 10 positions in PU biotechnology honours-1 exam

Local students have brought laurels to the city by clinching seven of the top 10 positions in the BSc bio-technology (honours) first-year exams, results of which were declared by the Panjab University on Tuesday.

Gaganpreet Kaur, a student of SD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, topped the university with 82.5% marks.

Ravneet Kaur and Sunpreet Kaur of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, grabbed the second and third positions respectively, while the fourth position was clinched by Apinder Kaur of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana.

Harmandeep Kaur of SD College came fifth, while Ruby Dagar of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42, Chandigarh, bagged the sixth position and Manisha Negi of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh, came seventh.

Pavneet Kaur of Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, stood eighth, while Ramandeep Kaur and Riya Bansal of GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana, and Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana, respectively, got the ninth position.

The 10th position was bagged by Ishita Jolly of Guru Nanak Girls College, Ludhiana.

Out of 291, who appeared for the BSc bio-technology (honours) first-year examination, 146 passed.

The university also declared the result for Shashtri part-3 examination.
Chhatan Mahanta of SD Sanskrit College, Hoshiarpur, topped the Shashtri Part-III examination by securing 67.9 marks. Out of 47 students, 39 passed the examination.
