City students shine in CBSE Class 10

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class-10 result on Tuesday. With the students being scored on the basis of cumulative grade point average (CGPA), the victory podium was widened. As a result, several schools were elated with their a huge number of their students scoring CGPA 10.

Though the overall result trends for Ludhiana was not immediately clear, DAV Public School, BRS Nagar; Kundan Vidya Mandir; Guru Nanak Public School; and Sacred Heart School were among those with maximum students scoring CGPA10. Besides, there was a huge number of students scoring between CGPA 9.8 and 9.

Among the top CGPA-10 scorers, many students were those who opted for the board-based summative assessment-2 (SA2) for Class 10. Rest of the students opted for the school-based assessment exams, which are recognised by the CBSE.

Final results for Class 10 will be based 60% on summative assessment (SA1 and SA2) and 40% on formative assessment. However, for students interested in changing schools, only SA marks will be considered.
