Civic ByPolls in ward number 8 and 46 on Sunday

After the intensive election campaign for by polls in ward number 8 and 46, the district election office has all set for the polling on 10 polling booths today. The ward number 8 is reserved, whereas the ward number 46 is the general ward.

Around 11,426 voters are expected to come out for the voting, in which 5949 are males and 5477 are females. The voting will start in the morning at 8Am till evening 5PM. The polling for the ward number 8 to be held at Punjab Public High School, DLF Colony. However, the polling for the ward number 46 to be held at state College of Education building.

While instructing the election officials at Polo ground, district election officer Varun Roojam said that the administration will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline towards the election duty and strict action will taken against the violators.

He said the district police along with civil administration will ensure the free and fair elections and elections in these wards are under deep vigil to avoid any kind of untoward incident.

Gurpal Singh, election registration officer cum sub divisional magistrate has sent the polling parties along with polling material for the voting centers.
