A 17-year-old girl of Khanuara village was allegedly raped by a fellow villager on Thursday. Mehtiana police have arrested the accused and registered a case under Secions 363 (kidnapping), 366 (inducing a woman to compel her for marriage), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC against him.
In her complaint to the Mehtiana police, the girl said one Pawan Kumar on his motorcycle forced her to accompany him on knife-point, when she was waiting for a bus to go to her school in Padhrana. The girl, a class 11 student, alleged that she was taken to a tubewell room in Badla village and raped.
The accused is a 20-year-old youth and works in a factory in Mehtiana.
She told her parents about the incident in the evening after she was released by the accused.
Mehtiana SHO Karnail Singh said that the accused was initially successful in escaping but was later arrested on Friday from Phuglana, about 10 km from Khanaura.
The police revealed that the place, where the girl was raped, belonged to accused's friend. It was also known that the motorcycle used to pick the girl also belonged to someone else.
"Medical examination of the girl confirmed rape at which a case was registered against the accused", the SHO said. "When we asked the girl if she was ever teased by the accused before the incident, she replied in the negative", he added.
Sources revealed that both the families knew each other as they lived close by.
