Clean India: Modi, Khattar praise dera chief’s efforts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar have lauded the efforts of Dera Sacha Sauda’s chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for his efforts in the Clean India campaign.
The dera chief with his five lakh supporters had conducted a cleanliness drive in Mumbai on October 28. During the drive, the dera volunteers cleaned the entire Mumbai city in 6 hours and 22 minutes.
In his tweet, the Prime Minister said, “Appreciable effort by Baba Ram Rahim Ji & his team. Will motivate people across India to join Swachh Bharat Mission!”
The dera chief had also praised Modi for Swachh Bharat movement during a press conference in Mumbai on October 28. He said the country was waiting for a true son of the nation and PM Modi has been proving that he is making the difference.
“Modi ji has taken a step to clean the nation and it is a remarkable job. The dera is also promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the country for the past three years. Now, as the Centre also starting similar campaigns across the nation, it will bring the change surely,” the dera chief said.
In a tweet, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said, “Applauding initiatives of @Gurmeetramrahimji (@derasachasauda), who carried out a cleanliness drive in Mumbai. His efforts inspire us all.”
It’s another proud movement for Sirsa that the Indian Hockey captain Sardara Singh also joined the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and got the applaud from the PM. Praising the hockey player Sardara Singh, Modi said, “After the hockey stick, Sardara Singh scores with the broom! A great effort towards a Swachh Bharat.”
