The city’s temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 2-4°C above normal even as the skies remained cloudy. The department has also forecast a rise in temperature in the days ahead. The day temperature at 27°C was 2°C above normal with the night temperature at 13°C, being 4°C above normal.
India Meterological Department (IMD) director, Chandigarh region, Surender Paul, said, “The western disturbances have led to cloudy weather in the region, due to which the mercury is few notches above normal. It will remain like this for the next 2-3 days, after which the mercury will start dipping. The weather will remain dry, however.” Previously, the department had predicted the exact opposite.
For Thursday, the Met department forecast reads, “Partly cloudy sky, with mist/haze during morning.”
The maximum temperature will be around 27°C and the night temperature will be around 13°C.
