Expressing shock over the terror attacks in Paris, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said this senseless violence was an outrage against humanity and deserved to be condemned in the strongest possible words by everyone, regardless of religion, region or nation.

In a letter to ambassador of France to India François Richier, the CM said he, on behalf of the people and government of Punjab, condemned the ideology of violence which had no respect for human life and for sacred values of peace, love and understanding among people professing different faiths.

He said the people of Punjab joined him in “extending to you not only our deepest sense of shock, grief and outrage over these mindless acts but also our complete solidarity and support to the peace-loving people of the great French nation.”

“We fully share the pain and sorrow of the affected families and wish to assure them through you that we stand by them in their hour of extreme grief,” added Badal.
