Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal inaugurated and laid the foundation stores of projects worth Rs 24.85 crore, during his visit to the constituency on Tuesday.
Badal inaugurated the building of an ultra-modern Sub Divisional Hospital (Rs 9 crore), Tehsil complex (Rs 3.25 crore) and laid the the foundation stone of a new building of the office-cum-residence of DSP (Rs 65 lakh). He termed the day as a Red Letter Day for Bholath residents.
Earlier, in the day, the CM also inaugurated three newly upgraded Power Grids at Bholath, Chowk Bajaj and Begowal, built at a cost of Rs 1.65 crore and laid the foundation stone for the strengthening and widening of Begowal-Bholath-Nadala-Subhanpur roads.
The CM said that health and education were the top priority of the state government. He claimed that the state led the country in these parameters due to the policies followed by the state government.
Badal added that a project had been conceptualized to ensure potable drinking water supply to residents in the villages at a cost of Rs 1,600 crore.
"The state government has also planned to test the water supplied to the villages from all the sources to ensure that clean water is provided" said Badal.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Cabinet Ministers Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon and Madan Mohan Mittal, former MLA Sarabjeet Singh Makkar, SGPC Member Jathedar Paramjeet Singh Raipur, Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Chairman MARKFED Jarnail Singh Wahid Chairman POWERCOM KD Chaudhary besides leaders of SAD-BJP alliance.
However, the CM's schedule was tweaked at the last moment. The inauguration of the building of a polytechnic at Begowal was kept pending for his last visit. "We have kept this pending for the next visit of Chief Minister in the constituency, as the CM was a little rushed today," said Bibi Jagir Kaur adding that, "it would be done before the start of next session positively. All other facilites regarding infrastructure and staff have been completed."
