Haryana chief minister ML Khattar on Tuesday approved five projects costing Rs 317.54 crore for providing housing facilities to poor people living in slums in Fardiabad, Gurgaon, Bahadurgarh and Rohtak towns.
A total of 7,241 multi-storey units would be constructed and basic amenities would be provided in slums of these towns.
Presiding over the second meeting of the state-level sanctioning and monitoring committee of Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) here, Khattar also directed officials to prepare a slum-free city plan for all towns falling in nine municipal corporations as well as in Sirsa and Hansi within a period of six months.
Expressing concern over the practice of resale of houses by beneficiaries, Khattar asked officials to draft stern rules so as keep an end on such practices.
“Every unit should be given on leasehold basis and transfer permission should not be allowed,” he said.
