Chief minister Virbhadra Singh would be visiting Sujanpur assembly segment of the district on December 9. It will be the second time in two months that Singh is visiting Hamirpur district.

Rajendra Rana, associate member of the Congress legislature party, is the brain behind the proposed tour of the chief minister to the area.

Rana had accorded a huge reception to the chief minister during his recent tours to the area and that is the main reason that the chief minister is extending full support to Rana in his works.

Rana organised many meetings in the area to prepare ground for the proposed tour of the chief minister.

He organised a meeting at Touni Devi, the main centre of the Sujanpur assembly segment, and told his supporters to be ready for the tour as it would be helpful for them to concentrate their base in the area.

The main aim of the chief minister and the Congress is to grab Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat from the BJP and that is why the chief minister is concentrating on Hamirpur district, which is the stronghold of the BJP.

The chief minister would also meet district officers during the tour. This aim of the chief minister was to end infighting in the party cadre and to gear up them for the next Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile, the district administration is also gearing up for the proposed tour as the chief minister seems to be unhappy with certain departments and officers for not performing their duties as per the expectations of the new Congress government.

On other hand, the BJP has decided to rake up the issue of lack of development in the district after the formation of the new Congress government in the state during the next session of the HP Vidhan Sabha to be held in Dharamsala next month.
