The Coca-Cola Cup (Under-15) football tournament has entered the zonal final round. The north zone group matches will be played from December 12-19 at MSLM ground, Sunder Nagar, Himachal Pradesh.
The eight states representing northern zone are Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
The tournament is a platform from where the All India Football Federation will identify players to be a part of the probable National U-15 Sub-Junior Team.
The eight states have been divided into two groups. The opening match on December 12 was played between Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, while on December 13 Punjab will clash with Chandigarh.
Scott O’Donell, technical director, academies, and director, coach education, All India Football Federation (AIFF), said: “The Coca-Cola Cup is a fantastic platform that will identify potential players to build the national U-17 team for the upcoming U-17 FIFA World Cup. AIFF scouts are keeping an eye at the zonal rounds as well as the national rounds to find India’s budding football talents. I’m looking forward to some great games ahead and I wish all the teams the very best. Let the Games begin.”
