Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has asked chief secretary Sarvesh Kaushal to link the annual confidential report of deputy commissioners to their performance.
In a review meeting on Tuesday, reports of which was presented by Kaushal, execution of progress-centric schemes and projects were discussed in a meeting with DCs. “Fix criteria for accessing their performance and link it to their ACRs,” Sukhbir told Kaushal.
Putting some DC under scanner, the deputy CM asked them to come out of comfort zone and perform to the aspirations of public as well as government. Names of the DCs under scanner were not revealed.
Badal also directed them to pay specialised attention to complete 100% works falling under the ambit of the rural and urban missions by November and made it known that he would assess the performance of DCs on this parameter in the next meeting.
In order to check the absenteeism among officials, Sukhbir directed DCs to have frequent inspections in offices, including educational institutions and hospitals.
