Computer workshop held at Amritsar school

A five-day computer workshop was recently organised by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Mall Road, here with an objective to train the participating teachers in information technology and acquaint them with modern information tools.

As many as 25 lecturers from District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs), computer teachers and principals participated in the workshop.

Inaugurating the workshop, SCERT deputy director, Punjab, Maninder Singh Sarkaria said, “The computer and internet technology have made our lives fast, alert and beautiful.”

On the occasion, workshop in charge Shimile H Hassan said: “Exchange of information is bringing us together.” He gave detailed information about Google tools and Internet security.

Workshop co-ordinator and school principal Mandeep Kaur, South Asia manager of Intel Swati Samadar, regional manager Vikram Parmar, principal Iqbal Singh Sandhu and workshop in charge Hassan awarded all participants with certificates.

District ICT co-ordinator Balraj Singh Dhillon was also present at the workshop.
