The three-day international conference on 'Advancements and Futuristic Trends in Mechanical and Materials Engineering' (AFTMME) concluded at Punjab Technical University (PTU) on Saturday.
On its valedictory function, Dr Charles M Kay, vice-president, ASB Industries, Barberton, US, was the chief guest on the occasion while Dr Jeganathan Karthikeyan from ASB Industries was the guest of honour.
The dean academics, PTU, and convener of the conference Dr Buta Singh Sidhu said, "I am happy to share that this conference attracted more than 150 researchers from more than 10 states of India and seven countries of the globe of which Poland and Japan participated for the first time".
The conference was organised in collaboration with the department of science (DST), defence, research and development organisation (DRDO) and the council of scientific and industrial research (CSIR).
Dr Satya Prakash, professor from IIT, Roorkee, also interacted with the delegates and expressed his gratitude for having got warm welcome here.
This was for the first time that two best papers were selected for awards. Meenakshi from the PhD category was awarded with a certificate and a cash prize of `10, 000 and TS Bedi from the MTech category bagged the best paper award with a certificate and a cash prize.
