Aam Aadmi Party candidate for Sirsa Lok Sabha seat, Poonam Chand Rati on Sunday said the Congress and BJP were fighting for power and both are mum on the issues affecting the common man of the country.

"Under these circumstances the AAP is the only hope for the common man," Rati said while addressing his first workers' convention at Kumhar Dharamshala here after his nomination as the AAP candidate for the LS polls.

Rati castigated BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for their silence on gas pricing. He said that AAP had written to both Modi and Rahul asking whether they would sell gas to Ambani for $4 or $8 in case they come into power after the 2014 general elections.

AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal has revealed that the Centre has allowed the Ambani Group to hike LPG prices.

Narendra Modi and Rahul have not deemed it fit to give an explanation on the issue, but the nation wants a sufficient answer, he said.

Rati said there was strong resentment among the people in Haryana against the ruling party, which has been in power for a decade now and the Opposition leaders are in jail on corruption charges.

He also asserted that in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections the party will win more seats than the Congress.
