The 'adhikar yatra' of Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) was welcomed by Chaudhary Jagjit Singh, former minister of Punjab, and district Youth Congress president Kaku Ahluwalia at Dhariwal Kadian village in Kartarpur constituency here.

PYC president Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary along with Suraj Hegde, All India Congress Committee (AICC), secretary paid respects at the samadhi of master Gurbanta Singh, former agriculture minister of the state.

The yatra covered all assembly constituencies after passing through Mai Hiran Gate, Panjpeer Chowk, Partap Bagh, Guru Nanak Mission Chowk, Model Town and halted at Ravidass Bhawan link road.

Addressing the gathering, Hegde praised Chaudhary and his team for carrying the message of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi of acquainting the masses with the policies and the good work done by the UPA regime to uplift, empower and help the masses in getting their rightful share.

The yatra will culminate at Lyallpur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Nakodar Road, on October 31, the day when Indira Gandhi was killed.
