Cong workers in Hamirpur hail budget

The district unit of the Congress has hailed the budget proposals for the next fiscal, presented in the state assembly by chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday

The district unit of the Congress has hailed the budget proposals for the next fiscal, presented in the state assembly by chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday.

Congratulating the CM for presenting a “balanced and tax-free” budget, chairman of the district marketing board Prem Kaushal said the new proposals were “bound to help all sections of the society, and thereby prove that the Congress was pro-people”. He added that no section was left out in the budget.

Kaushal, however, criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for describing the budget proposals as “anti-people”, adding that the opposition leaders could not “digest” the proposals, as they were bound to help the Congress in the next elections, which was why they were criticising them.

The Congress leader appealed to people “not to fall prey to the evil designs” of the BJP, and help the Congress in its “endeavors to take the nation and state forward in every sphere of life”.

Former party member of legislative assembly and vice-chairman of Kangra Central Co-operative Bank Kuldip Singh Pathania said the new budget proposals were “progressive and would help all sections of the society at a time when the opposition was trying to destabilise the nation”.

He added that the “entire state was supporting the CM in his mission to make Himachal Pradesh one of the leading states”.
