Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader HS Phoolka blamed sarpanches and presidents of nagar panchayats and nagar councils from the SAD and the Congress for deliberately creating water crisis in Punjab on Thursday
Addressing a press conference here, Phoolka said, “These elected representatives are trying to create panic in state under a well planned political conspiracy.” “They are hindering the water rights of the people and have not paid the bills deliberately.”
“There are reports from many villages and towns that water supply has been disconnected because the elected local and panchayat bodies have not paid the power bills. We have concrete information that these bodies have collected the water bills from the residents but have not paid the bill so that crisis can be created in the state which will eventually become difficult for the next AAP government to tackle,” said the AAP leader.
Quoting few examples from different villages in Shahkot area of Jalandhar district, Phoolka said, “At least 25 villages in this assembly segment are facing water crisis as the power bills have not been paid.” “Similar reports are coming from all over the states and we are compiling the data over how many villages have got water less,” he said.
The AAP leader cautioned that all those who have not deliberately paid the bills should keep in mind that they will be punished by the next AAP government in Punjab and they will be disqualified from their posts.
“The Congress and the SAD have issued instructions to the representatives of the elected local bodies to create all sorts of mess for the next government,” said Phoolka.
