Constable’s mobile phone snatched

Two motorcycle-borne youths allegedly snatched the mobile phone of a constable near Kitchlu Nagar Market on Wednesday evening.

Constable Gurnam Singh, who is deputed at police headquarters, said he was on his evening walk.

As he reached near Kitchlu Nagar, two motorcycle-borne men approached him and snatched his mobile phone, before fleeing the spot.

Singh, who resides at the government accommodation in Police Lines, was in civvies at the time of the incident.

Sub-inspector Surinder Kumar, station house officer (SHO) at PAU police station, said a case under section 382 (theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to the committing of the theft) was registered against unidentified accused.
