Senior superintendent of police Hardyal Singh Mann said that Kuldeep had been named by Patran residents Gurpyar Singh and Jatinder Singh, who had been arrested by Samana police on Monday for smuggling drugs, and 60 kg poppy husk was recovered from their possession.

Mann added that during interrogation, the accused confessed to smuggling poppy husk from Rajasthan and selling it in different parts of Punjab and Haryana.

The accused also alleged that Kuldeep used to help them and had smuggled poppy husk at least 15 times and would take another shipment in his car on Tuesday.

In a separate case, a resident of Khanna Mithu was arrested after police recovered 750 habit-forming drugs from him.
