In the wake of strike of contractual nurses, the authorities claimed to have made adequate arrangements to provide uninterrupted services to patients at Government Medical College and Rajendra Hospital here.

Principal of the college Dr KD Singh said that they had received special instructions from senior authorities to deploy alternate staff in wards for smooth functioning of the hospital.

He said that they had already deployed nursing students, trainee nurses and interns on general duties, who were asked to work in morning and evening hours.

"We have been taking to nurses, pacifying them to call off their protest", he said.
