The police have recovered a suicide note from the house of convict Ravdeep Kaur who had gone missing from her house on December 15 while on parole.
The police have been working on various theories as they are trying to locate her. Convicted of murder of Patiala additional and sessions judge Vijay Singh, Kaur had been sentenced to life imprisonment.
During search, the police have found the note written by Kaur, saying the wife of the deceased judge was threatening her and she didn't want to live.
Talking to HT, DSP (city) Harpal Singh said that in her note, Kaur had said that her father had died and there was no caretaker of her family and that the wife of the deceased judge was threatening her. She had written that earlier also she had tried suicide in jail but was not successful.
Harpal said the police did not believe her suicide note and had been questioning her family.
Gynaecologist Dr Ravdeep Kaur, who had divorced her husband, developed relations with Patiala additional district sessions judge Vijay Singh. When she pressed the judge for marriage, he refused, so she decided to take revenge. She gave Rs 5 lakh to one Manjit Singh who murdered the judge with a sharp-edged weapon on October 13, 2005.
