Men in khakhi who took oath to serve society and to eradicate the crime have brought shame to the police department by getting involved in criminal activities, including kidnapping, murder, forgery and corruption.

Abduction and killing of Rajpura man Gulzar Singh Chaudhary is the recent case where the police personnel were directly involved. Though the police have registered a criminal case against the accused, including two police personnel - head constable Parminder Singh and home guard jawan Deepak Kumar, but the attitude of the police has been partial and in favour of the accused. However, Parminder is still at large.

Thought the police officials are trying to hush-up the matter saying that that Chaudhary died due to cardiac arrest, the post-mortem report cleared the Chaudhary died due to head injury.

This is not the first case where the police officials favoured guilty cops. There are many other cases also in which cops have been accused, but investigation in such cases goes at a snail's pace and the process becomes cumbersome.
