The court of additional district and sessions judge Arunvir Vashisth acquitted Harwinder Singh alias Bindu of Ali Chuck village of Lambra of murder charges on Thursday.

He was arrested in March 2012 in a murder case registered against him at Lambra police station. The court also acquitted three others -- Sonu alias Bachha of Gonachuck village, Daljinder Singh alias Jinder, and Lakha of Gondpur village in the case after the police investigation failed to prove charges in the court that they had killed Amarjeet Singh Lala.

According to information, Bindu's father Sohan Singh was murdered in 2010 and his body was found at Pawar village of the district. The police had charged four men with murder. Amarjit Singh and Joginder Singh were given a clean chit during police investigation but Bindu suspected their role in the murder of his father.

The police had claimed that Bindu, along with his accomplice Daljinder, had murdered Amarjeet in November 2011.
