In a family feud, a man was killed by his cousins on Tuesday morning. The feud flared up when the deceased, identified as Manpreet Singh, along with his elder brother Ajay Kumar, met the local councillor to complain about the harassment of Ajay's wife by their cousins.

According to police sources, both accused Narinder and Sukhwinder, residents of Sultanpur Lodhi, used to harass the sister-in-law of the deceased, Ajay's wife Sharanjit Kaur. Both the accused are cousins of the deceased.

The matter sparked a rift between the two families a long time ago. Time and again, the families sat together and tried to solve the dispute in a friendly manner, but to no avail, as both Sukhwinder and Narinder continued with their lewd behaviour towards Ajay's wife.

It was on Monday evening that Manpreet, along with his elder brother Ajay Kumar, decided to meet the local councillor Vicky and acquaint him of the matter for a solution. However, the very next day, both brothers were intercepted by their aunt on their way to the office and objected to their dragging a family matter in the open, said sources.
