Critically injured minor needs financial help for treatment

The family of a three-year old-boy, who is admitted at Deep Hospital with multiple injuries after being hit by a car at Salempur village on April 5, needs financial help for his treatment.

Saroj Kumar got injuries in intestine and legs and arms. According to doctor, the child will have to undergo many surgeries, but the family is unable to afford his treatment. The father of the child is working in a private factory and unable to pay for further treatment.

Dr Navdeep Goyal, paediatric intensivist at the hospital, said, “The child was admitted at the pediatric intensive care unit, where he has so far undergone multiple surgeries and has been kept on ventilator support for the last eight days. He needs to undergo more surgeries.”

“The condition of the child is improving now; however he has gangrene on one of his arms. He got infection in stomach as intestines burst in the accident,” he said, adding that the family needs financial help for further treatment.

Jagarnath, uncle of Saroj, said, “Following the accident, we took him to a city hospital in serious condition, but the hospital authorities asked us to pay Rs50,000 in advance. Then, we took the child to Deep Hospital, where his treatment was started. More than Rs3 lakh has been spent on his treatment so far.”

“The doctor told us that we will have to pay Rs70,000 more for further treatment of Saroj, as he needs some more surgeries. His condition is still critical. His Father is working in a private company and earns Rs 8,000 per month,” his uncle added.
