The Haryana government has moved the Punjab and Haryana court challenging the Hisar fast track court's acquittal order of four accused in the Dabra gangrape case of a Dalit girl. The crime was committed on September 9 last year.

The four accused are Mahender, Rajkumar, Kuldeep, alias Moosa, and Sunil. However, the trial court had on May 4 sentenced the four other accused, namely Pawan, Raj Kumar, Baljit and Vikas, to life imprisonment.

The 16-year-old girl was kidnapped by a group of youths who raped her on the outskirts of the town. While raping her, they had also filmed the crime. The victim's father committed suicide on September 18 after coming to know about the rape and seeing the video of the crime. The police had registered an FIR at Sadar police station in Hisar on September 19, 10 days after the crime.

The case is expected to come up for hearing later this week.
