Punjab's biggest milk producer Verka Milk Plant, on Wednesday, organised a seminar at Sadarpur village in Samana block of the district under the union government-sponsored scheme 'Strengthening Infrastructure for Quality and Clean Milk Production'.

The objective of the scheme was to train farmers for producing clean milk for which they were provided milk testing material and stainless steel utensils free of cost to maintain quality of milk.

During the seminar, experts, including GP Sharma, GM, Verka Milk Plant and others, spoke on ensuring the quality of milk by adopting scientific techniques.

Sharma said that dairy farmers must aim at maximising the milk production and must ensure that milk is produced in clean and hygienic conditions. They should always bear in mind that the milk produced should be fit for human consumption and is good for health, he added.

Giving details of various techniques and tips for quality production of milk to farmers, Sharma also said that the knowledge is essential for producing clean milk and the farmers should be aware of it.

He said that apart from taking knowledge of the basics of clean milk production, farmers should get information regarding the basic concepts in milk production to reduce input costs and ultimately maximise their returns.
