Radical Sikh organisation Dal Khalsa has announced to hold dharnas on January 26 at Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Moga against what the hardliner group termed as injustice to and discrimination against the Sikhs and Punjab.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) leaders have also supported Dal Khalsa's call for protests. Dal Khalsa's spokesperson Kanwarpal Singh accused the Union government of denying democratic rights and distinct identity to the Sikhs.

The Dal Khalsa leader was here on Tuesday to mobilise party workers in the Malwa region for protests on January 26.

Giving a call to school children and teachers for not becoming a part of January 26 functions, he said for Sikhs, there was no constitutional and moral justification to celebrate these functions because there was no sign of true democracy on the ground.

On the censor board's clearance to the film of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of Dera Sacha Sauda, he said it has been done under BJP's pressure in lieu of the dra chief's support to the party.
