Dalai Lama's teaching starts today

Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, on Tuesday will initiate a three-day teaching session on 'Nagarjuna's Garland of the Middle Way' on request of a group of Korean followers at Tsuglakhang temple at Mcleodganj.

The teachings will conclude on November 13. There will be a live webcast of the teachings in Tibetan with translations available in English, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese and Russian languages, said a press release by the private office of Tibetan spiritual leader.

US official for Tibetan issues to visit Dharamsala

US special coordinator for Tibetan issues, Sarah Sewall, is scheduled to visit Tibetan communities in Nepal and India during her current visit to the two countries. Her visit will officially begin on Sunday.

“Sewall will also travel to Dharamsala to discuss Tibetan refugee issues. She will announce a new award of $3.2 million for a Tibetan Health System Strengthening Project to universalise access to quality health services, and especially to end preventable child and maternal deaths and create tuberculosis free communities, for Tibetan refugee communities in India and Nepal,” said the exile-government in a press release. Sewall is also scheduled to visit the Tibetan settlements in Kathmandu and Pokhara, it added.
