punjab Updated: Mar 05, 2012 10:36 IST

Mother of one of the accused in the alleged rape of a minor Dalit girl from Shekhonwala Khu area in Kartarpur has said that her son was falsely implicated.

Gurbaksh Kaur, mother of Parmel Singh alias Pamma, a resident of the same village addressed a press conference and said that the girl was neither abducted nor raped. The case was a conspiracy against the accused, especially her son, she added.

"The girl had a love affair with Jatinder Singh alias Pinda and she had called him to meet. Some of the youth from area who saw the girl going with the boy started chasing them. Boy got frightened over it and called Pamma over phone for help who reached the place near the area. Both of them too had a scuffle with the youth," she claimed.

Sandeep Sharma, the counsel for the accused claimed that the medical report of the victim girl had not confirmed rape.

SP operations, rural police, Rajinder Singh said the medical report of the girl was still awaited and samples had been sent to Chandigarh-based laboratory.
