Ludhiana could not manage to notch up a lead against Amritsar on day four of the under-19 Dhruv Pandove Cricket Championship. They had already lost nine wickets on the previous day and were bowled out by the visitors on 343 runs after resuming play on Sunday.
Amritsar batsmen Navnit and Karan scored 25 and 11 runs, respectively, while chasing a meagre total of 36 runs put up by the home team.
Home batsmen Navendu Sharma contributed 33 runs while Rahul remained unbeaten on 10 towards the end of the innings. Rahul claimed three wickets for 84 runs while Rohit and Karan claimed two each. Shivam took one wicket for 32 runs. Despite scoring 300 plus runs in a single innings, at no point in the match did it seem that things could turn favourable for the home team.
The visitors, who performed to perfection from the first day onwards, had an upper hand over the home team. Putting up a mammoth total of 519 runs in their first innings, they put Ludhiana on the backfoot. The home team could not retaliate in a similar fashion.
Ludhiana will play their next match on June 15 against Mohali at the Punjab Agricultural University cricket ground.
