Deputy commissioner Kavita Singh on Friday conducted a surprise raid at different government schools to check if the managements of these schools were up to the mark. The DC also visited the anganwari centres and the grain markets.

She instructed the school managements to maintain proper records of mid-day meal schemes, prepare a schedule to distribute books from the library and to keep records of funds used in different development works.

She visited Government High School Bhadlav, the primary school and an anganwari centre at Amlasingh Wala; she also visited the Government Senior Secondary School and primary school at Hamidi village and the government school at Thuliwal village. She took serious note of the lack of safe drinking water and hygiene in the schools

The DC directed the school principals not to start too many development works in the campus at one go, as such programmes acted as a hindrance in the studies of students. She also expressed her displeasure and anganwari workers for not distributing material sent for children to them in time.
