Deputy commissioner Kumar Rahul on Tuesday directed officials of the revenue department to take strict action within 10 days against those who have defaulted on loan repayment.
Chairing a monthly meeting of different departments, Rahul directed tehsidars and naib tehsildars to coordinate with officials of other departments in order to recover government money from defaulters within stipulated time.
"If defaulters fail to pay back, arrest them," Rahul instructed officials.
He added that property of defaulters should be attached to recover dues before January 30. "Strict action will be taken against revenue officials if they failed to follow the directions," he said.
Meanwhile, the DC directed panchayat officers of different blocks, executive officers and officials of municipal councils to hasten development works in their areas and send him balance sheets regarding funds available with them regarding different projects.
He also directed officials them to submit utilisation certificates of money provided under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds.
