DC inspects sub-registrar offices

Deputy commissioner Rahul Tewari and additional deputy commissioner Neeru Katyal Gupta and executive magistrate Sikha Bhagat on Thursday inspected three sub-registrar offices at Ludhiana west, Ludhiana Central and Ludhiana East.
While inspecting the sub-registrar office (East) at Transport Nagar, the deputy commissioner directed the maintenance contractor to do whitewash including some minor repairs.
To construct a hall for Patwaris on the second floor, a committee of sub-divisional magistrate, Ludhiana (East), sub-divisional officer Panchayati Raj and Tehsildar, Ludhiana (East), was formed to float tenders and get the work done within 45 days.
The DC also ordered to arrange for a parking facility on the vacant space near the complex.
The DC asked people present at the sub-registrar office regarding the problems being faced by them at government offices.
After the inspection of sub-registrar office (East) the deputy commissioner inspected sub-registrar office Ludhiana (West) and the maintenance contractor was ordered to do minor repairs where needed in the office.
At Ludhiana (Central) sub-registrar office the deputy commissioner issued directions to the contractor to get the building whitewashed.
The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the documents at all three sub-registrar offices and directed the Tehsildars to call people personally and deliver registries which were 2-3 months old and were still lying at the offices.
The DC ordered Tehsildars to install flex boards mentioning the fee of services given at the sub-registrar office. The Tehsildars were also directed to install boards mentioning the arrival and departure time of sweepers, clerks and data entry operators and to sign it every day in the morning, afternoon and evening.
The executive magistrate has been made the nodal officer for monitoring infrastructure and working of the sub-registrar offices.
