punjab Updated: Jun 12, 2014 13:05 IST

Deputy commissioner Rajat Agarwal held a monthly-review meeting with different government departments at Bachat Bhawan on Wednesday. DC guided all department heads to review the development works under their jurisdiction personally and asked them to submit a weekly report to him.

Addressing the sub-divisional magistrates (SDM), block development officers (BDO) and panchayat officers, DC said if they faced any problem during work or noticed any hindrance, they could bring it to the notice of DC office directly without any delay.

The DC took notice of the non-submission of utilisation certificate (UC) under the deadlines and asked the BDOs and panchayat officers to hold a daily meeting at 5:30 in the evening for proper screening of the ongoing projects. He said these meetings would continue till the department would not submit the utilisation certificates within deadlines.

Rajat Agarwal said no encroachment on government land would be admitted and police should take stringent action against the defaulters. DC ordered the education department to check midday meal on routined and regular basis, and asked not to compromise with the quality of the food served to students.

During a meeting with the Suvidha Centre Governing Committee, DC said the behaviour of the staff should be cordial with the people and staff should work within provided deadline for each work. With monsoon ahead, he ordered to clean the ponds etc and also asked the water supply and sewage department to keep their helpline active.

DC also issued show-cause notice to the officers who didn’t attend the monthly meeting. He said all officials need to attend such meetings strictly.
