After the issue of the locked classroom at the Government Senior Secondary School, Adampur, was highlighted by the media on Saturday, the district electoral officer and deputy commissioner Varun Roojam, on Saturday, ordered the sub-divisional magistrate-I to shift the election material from the locked classroom and vacate it.

The election officials had locked the room as some poll material was lying in the room and as many as 40 students of class-6 were being made to sit outside in the cold weather.

The classroom was closed in August last year when zila parishad and block samiti elections were held.
District electoral officer Varun Roojam said that SDM-I has been asked to shift the material on Monday.

He said, "It was not in our notice, otherwise this would not have happened. The officials had not informed me about the issue though the school authorities had visited the tehsildar in this connection."
