DC orders strengthening of rural link roads

Deputy commissioner Varun Roozam has asked officials of the rural development and panchayat department to ensure the strengthening of rural link roads in order to minimise road accidents and provide better road facilities to the people.

The DC has directed that the administration had already taken up the task of levelling berms of all rural link roads of the district within a week. He also said that all berms would be repaired before the commencement of sowing of paddy crops and asked the officers to get the co-operation of all land owners and farmers to make the complete the process within stipulated time frame.

He also asked them to ensure the widening of the roads wherever it is was required as per the official record.

Roozam also appealed to owners of lands, whose lands were located near rural link roads, to extend their co-operation to officials for filling of the berms.

He said that to monitor the progress of the development projects various committees have also been constituted at sub-division level in which the SDM, the tehsildar, kanugo, patwari and the SHO as members.

On the occasion Gurpal Singh Chahal, ADC, and other officials were also present.
