DC raids civil surgeon's office, finds 64 absent

Amritsar deputy commissioner Ravi Bhagat on Wednesday conducted a surprise raid at the civil surgeon's office and found nearly 64 of 117 employees absent from duty.

Amritsar deputy commissioner Ravi Bhagat on Wednesday conducted a surprise raid at the civil surgeon's office and found nearly 64 of 117 employees absent from duty.

These included three food and drug inspectors, 42 employees of personnel wing and 19 Class 4 employees.

During a raid at the Suvidha Centre being run there, the DC found seven out of 12 employees absent.

He also gathered information about the birth and death certificates issued there and gave instructions about the maintenance of records in the civil surgeon's office.

Talking about the absentees, he said due action would be ensured against them by writing to the department concerned.
He added that the aim behind conducting the raid was to ensure the best and timely services to the public.
