Deep Hospital filed a complaint against unidentified people for allegedly defaming the hospital by circulating false and misleading information about it on messaging application WhatsApp here on Tuesday.

Messages stating that Deep Hospital's director took a monthly commission of `2 lakh from Blood Bank were allegedly circulated on many WhatsApp groups. The message read that Blood Bank incharge Amandeep Saini collected blood free of cost from people through blood donation camps and then sold it to needy patients charging them heavily, claimed hospital officials. It further blamed the hospital for making blood donation a business, they added.

Hospital authorities clarified that the information was false and misleading and was spread with the sole motive of spoiling the reputation of the Blood Bank and hospital. The authorities added that Blood Bank charges taken for a unit of blood was part of the testing fee for mandatory investigations. The hospital also filed a complaint against commissioner of police (CP) and demanded strict action against the culprit.
