Auto drivers in the district, who frequently overcharge their customers within the town, are defying district administration's order that has asked the auto drives to display rate list on their vehicles.

Two weeks ago, sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Suresh Jaswal convened a meeting with auto operators and asked them to display the rate list on their vehicles for public convenience.

The operators agreed to do so but nobody had followed the order. There are frequent complaints against the auto drivers that they commonly charged hefty amount from the people to travel them with in the town.

However, according to the law, the fair is already declared depending on distance in kilometers in particular town but the apathy of Kullu regional transport authority force people to suffer a lot.
Jaswal said that auto operators were violating the norms.

People of the town allege that the auto operators duped them according to the situation, especially senior citizens and people in emergency.

Locals have urged to enforce the order strictly for the comfort of people. Jaswal said impudence of auto operators to follow the order will not be tolerated and the authorities will take stern action to implement the order.
