Deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar here on Tuesday asked people to deposit their forms for making new Aadhaar-based ration cards under the National Food Security Act, 2013, with the authorities concerned, by January 31.
Singhmar said that the forms could be obtained from panchayat secretary/ panchayat sahayak in rural areas and from the fair price shops set up in urban areas.
“Special emphasis had been laid on the empowerment of women in the National Food Security Act and provision had been made to issue the ration card in the name of the senior most woman member of the family,” added he.
He said that people should make their Aadhar card as it has become important for all government work. He added that an office had been set up in his office at Hamirpur for making these cards.
