The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday said new revelations proved that Punjab Congress leaders had participated and supported the November 10 radical Sarbat Khalsa despite knowing that it was a Khalistani stage.

In a statement, senior SAD leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal said the statement by SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann that all leaders attending the ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ knew that it was a Khalistani stage had exposed the lies of Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa.

He said Bajwa had been claiming all along that Congress leaders Ramanjit Sikki and Inderjit Zira did not know the intentions of the organisers and that the resolutions had taken them by surprise.

The SAD leader said it was now apparent that the organisers of the gathering had discussed the resolutions with Congress leaders. He said this had also become clear from “audio clips on the social media in which both Lalli Majithia and Harminder Gill even gave advice to the organisers on the resolutions which should be adopted.”

“The interview of Simranjit Singh Mann has made it clear that one of the organisers of the congregation – Satnam Singh Manawa, with whom both Congress leaders talked to regarding resolutions, was a neighbour of Harminder Gill,” said Grewal.

“Your (Bajwa) game is up. It has now been conclusively proven that Congress leaders not only masterminded the so called Sarbat Khalsa, but that they were also hand in glove with the organisers in adopting a resolution which called for separatism,” he added.

Urging Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi to take note of the fresh evidence, Grewal said if the Congress leader did not react even now and did not expel all those who were part of the separatists’ show, it would be proven that the Congress had deliberately indulged in an anti-national activity.
