Dharamsala stadium to host T20 international cricket match

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) on Thursday expressed delight as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named the Dharamsala International Cricket Stadium as one of the venues for the T20 cricket match between India and South Africa slated in October and November.

In a statement, HPCA press secretary Mohit Sood said, "We are very happy and proud that the state cricket body has been given an opportunity to host a T20 international after successfully hosting two one day internationals (ODIs)."

Sood said it was a great opportunity for the association and the state to maximize the benefits of this opportunity for tourism.

The HPCA has also expressed gratitude to the BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and secretary Anurag Thakur for allotting the game to the venue, which figures among top stadiums in the world. "Arrangements and preparations will begin at the earliest for hosting this prestigious assignment," Sood added.

South Africa will tour India in October and November and will be playing four tests, five ODIs and three T20 internationals.The dates of the matches are yet to be announced.
