Punjab finance minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa announced grants worth more than Rs 2.5 crore on the last day of his sangat darshan tour in Lehra constituency. Dhindsa was on a two-day visit in Lehra.
Talking to the media, Dhindsa said, "Sangat darshans give the government a chance to listen to the problems of villagers at the personal level and solve them on the spot." This also helps them in saving money that would have been spent on travelling.
Dhindsa directed officials of various departments to submit a report within 10 days regarding the issues raised during sangat darshans.
The government has already cleared the irrigation and safe drinking water projects of Lehra and Khanori constituency. To provide toilets in the houses of needy and members of the weaker sections, the government has already launched a project, added Dhindsa.
Dhindsa visited seven villages on the last day of his tour.
